Things have changed. Concious Cup used to be my favorite breakfast and coffee place but they have changed their sandwiches and not for the better. The bread they use now is awful and the egg has little to no flavor. We had a group meet here every Wednesday and will no longer be going there. Very disappointed

Happy Tummy. I got an egg and pepper breakfast sandwich that was miles better then anything Starbucks sells. Large egg sandwich, jumbo muffin and a cup of coffee were about $7.00, (it fed me and spouse, that’s a steal!). It’s got a real home town feel where I don’t feel rushed or shoe horned into a tight never ending line. If I didn’t like my food or drink it was the kind of place where I know they would have cared and corrected anything to make me happy.P.S. I’m a professional Chef and not easily impressed. But I was very impressed here!
RicktheWriter. Their coffee and love for the coffee world is outstanding. Fair trade warriors, they bring us coffee lovers beans from around the world. Wired (their large) mochas, hot or cold, are amazing.And food? All sandwiches and soups are made on the premises. I have yet to find anything I wouldn’t recommend. First class place!Only wish they were open longer than 6pm.
Conscious. I am a big fan of Concious Cup. VERY knowlegeable and friendly staff. The comfortable and laid back atmosphere is the best I’ve experienced in McHenry County by far for coffee. The fresh food and bakery items every day are an excellent addition. I used to be a big Starbux guy, but these folks have the service to back up the brew and that is where Starbux doesn’t quite measure up.
I like Starbucks latte’s but these r even better. Look for the maple leaf design on top of foam. Great place to read a book or use your laptop.
I definitely prefer over Starbucks. A lot like Intelligensia. Staff knows their stuff and are very friendly. Also I like to support the local businesses in this economy. Unfortunately I’m now addicted to thier lattes.
