We liked our visit. The drinks are great, the atmosphere is wonderful and a welcome change from the chains. My wife liked her Greek salad and my pub burger was good. However it took a really long time for our food to arrive. The waitress forgot some of the details, but was Rectified.

Feels like eating in a castle, and popcorn instead of bread!! The weekday we went ( I think Monday) they had half price burgers, we both got them, and I must say they were some of the best burgers we have ever eaten!!!
Ate there for the first time since they rebuilt it. No loss, maybe I should have had the bar food. My guest and I both had steaks, which came with bland French Onion soup and our choice of garlic mashed potatoe which tasted like they came from a box. I added mushrooms to my steak for an additional cost, which looked like they were from a can and really didn’t have much flavor.The server was great and the popcorn on the table was a nice gesture, maybe I should have taken that as a sign to order a burger or a sandwich instead of a steak. Rum & coke was 5.50 and was a good pour. I might consider eating there again and drinking more and eating less. I give this a 3 out of 5 stars.
You really take for granted some restaurants and village squire is one of them. I have probably eaten here around 50 times in my lifetime and not once have I had a bad meal.
Great place for family dinner or a drink with friends. Nice fireplace and I live the popcorn! Sometimes they have a band and that is just a bit loud.
