Overpriced and small portions. The good: quickly seated, appetizers and drinks came quickly, atmosphere pleasing… Sort of. The bad: high prices for a tiny amount of food, atmosphere looked run down and old not sure why there is a sign calling for a dress code that men should wear sleeved shirts, not many people here on Friday night, lots of signs on groupon users and http://restaurant.com users felt unwanted, chef not very enthusiastic, wait staff have heavy accents hard to understand did not come back to ask how wemwere doing, hibachi table looked like no proper ventilation, lots of waiters came by before noticing my cup was empty, 11$ plate sharing fee…. The ugly: wait staff woman followed me outside in the parking lot to ask why I didn’t tip…..Wow… In conclusion: overpriced, small food portions, old run down atmosphere, and extremely rude wait staff. Go else where for the price.

Don’t skip the sushi bar!. I really love this place!! They have bamboo sushi boats that are propelled around the circular bar by a slow current of water. Each boat has different kinds of sushi, tempura, sashimi, and desserts. Everything is fresh and delicious. I recommend going on a Friday/ Saturday night because there is a higher turn over of sushi which allows you to try a wider variety of their dishes.

GOOD FOOD, GREAT SHOW. This place and Ron of Japans are my favorite Japanese steak houses. This place has a better show than Ron’s but Ron edges it out slightly on the food.

Great Food & Fun. Kampai is my favorite of the Hibachi style restaurants. Small and intimate, Kampai combines the fun of a chain stop and the relaxation of a romantic eatery. You may chose to have a private table, but most that come here gather together around the Hibachi grills. Before beginning cooking, the chef will dazzle you with an array of tricks he performs over the grill. Between flipping rice bowls on his head and cutting an egg mid flight with a spatula you should find something that gives you cause to applaud. I suggest getting own of their combination meals. Along with your chosen main course, these each come with steamed or white rice, miso soup, stir-fried vegetables and a small salad with ginger dressing. A scoop of ice cream for dessert is also included, and I urge you to try the green tea flavor. The best selection on the menu is their lobster and filet combo. You are given the option to dress the lobster with their garlic or egg yolk sauce. (The egg yolk topping is out of this world good). Some other things worth trying are the golden shrimp, teriyaki chicken and shrimp flambe for an app. The sashimi sushi sampler is also quite good. Make reservations, the wait can be terrible without them as this place gets pretty packed on the weekends. It’s a great place to bring a date, or a group of 8.
