Very nice date night!. My husband and I live in Chicago and were in town for business. This was the first restaurant to meet both of our needs. I like sushi, my husband does not so he ordered the chicken teriyaki. We had a great appetizer, some wine, great entrees, and great ambiance. We realized we had no complaints and, in fact, was one of the best dinners we’ve had in a while and we live in Chicago, the land of great food!
I will start by saying that I love sushi! I could eat it daily. My trip to Sakana wasn’t very good sadly. First of all, I was one of three diners in the restaurant so business was not a reason for my negative review. I started by ordering the miso soup which came out cold which was very disappointing. I also ordered the crazy Maki and the fire dragon rolls. The crazy maki was fine, nothing amazing but it was edible. The fire dragon on the other hand made me a little nauseous. I like spicy salmon and I like eel, so I figured they would be good together. I figured wrong. I had one piece and couldn’t do anymore. I wouldn’t recommend this if you come here. Also, my rolls came out about ten minutes apart from the other which was a little annoying to me. I felt that it was slow and not worth the wait. I will not be returning.
