If you expect bar food, some of the dishes will pleasantly surprise you. The salads are pretty good here. The vibe in the evening is super chilled out. Is generally full of Northwestern crowd giving it a warm friendly neighborhood bar feeling!
Huge sandwiches. Recommended for Sunday brunch. They have a make-your-own bloody Mary bar (they mix the tomato juice and alcohol, you add hot sauce and garnishes) that is a lot of fun. Coffee is self served and free. Diner-quality food and atmosphere.

Ok food. Huge portions. Great looking deserts available. Bad service. New waiter screwed up checks and cost me 20 minutes of my lunch. Lots of microbrews available.
Food was very good. Service not do great. New waiter spoke little English and messed up all our checks. Three people with three different checks and none of them were even close. Took 20 minutes to fix after manager came out.
Bat 17 is one of my favorite places for an evening meal. The wait staff and bar tender are attentive fun and nice. The Farmers salad and coleslaw are my favorite, delicious! Yes it is small but I never feel uncomfortable and am seated quickly. It is a great place for a night out with friends or dinner with my children. Highly recommend.
Great sandwich soot. Try the California Dream (I think that’s what it was called). Fantastic. Plan to go back on a Friday night for beer and burgers.
