Bill’s might go unnoticed to passersby, its decor is unassuming and humble. This is your run of the mill hot dog stand in the shadow of more reputable chains. However I don’t even find myself flipping a coin or torn at the decision when I have the inclination to eat out. Nine times out of ten, Bills drive-in is my retreat with rather kind staff, a dynamite milkshake, and who can resist the iconic Chicago dog. There’s little space to snack nearby but if you are a walking distance away or you take comfort chowing down behind the wheel, make this Oasis of diner style goods your next destination and tell them that your gut sent you.

Classic. Bill’s is a pretty standard Chicago-style hot dog stand. Good fries, decent shakes (and even malt’s), and the usual assortment of deep-fried snacks (pizza-puffs etc.). The real stand-outs here are the burgers–I cloud almost always go for a double cheese, vanilla malt and fries (ask for celery salt on the fries).
