Best wings anywhere – better than the Buffalo institution itself!. I’ve been to Buffalo Joe’s countless times for the suicide wings – excellent mixture of spice and flavor; the jalapenos on top perfectly pickled and spicy with the sauce… It’s incredibly unhealthy of course, but a junk food delicacy when we get it – I’ve tried the wings at Anchor in Buffalo, their hottest wings were all kick and no subtlety, all spice and no other flavour, but Joe’s have great nuance in their flavor alongside the kick…Only go to the original on Clark, the rest aren’t the same, especially if you want the ‘original’ experience surrounded by Northwestern students! Cheddar chips are great, and if you’re not in a deep fried wing mood, the bleu cheese burger is good too.
PERFECTION.. Only go to the Downtown Evanston location… The other’s just aren’t the same…. Don’t expect a sports bar, white tablecloths or fake nice-ness from the staff. This place has been here for ages for a reason. The owner loves his place, and is almost always there. The girls that work the counter will give you a hard time, but always with the best intentions 🙂 The walls are covered in positive reviews from everywhere, for a reason. Wings are amazing, cheddar chips are HEAVEN, burgers are perfect, cheddar broccoli soup is delicious. BRING CASH, and ENJOY!!!
Best Wing Sauce. Buffalo Joe’s has the best wing sauce in the area which makes it a place to visit many times. The wings could be much better if they cooked the meat more and put on more meat. Once again, great sauce, average chicken. Also, do not expect a sports bar. This is a local fast food joint which has been around for years and is not very fancy.
The best wings… In the area. There is something to be said about a place that specializes in a specific food. The wings are off the hook; forget bww’s chain places this is the real deal. Wings the way it should be done as well as the waffle fries to go with it. Be warned … Only go to the downtown Evanston location, the other two have the same name but not the same product.
Did not like. Very dirty. Girls behind counter were very helpful, but man taking money was very unpleasant. Wings not good either.
OKAY. Wings over cooked. It is an institution so go once.
Possibly the best wings I have ever had. Try the cheddar chips. Friendly service you would expect from a mom and pop business. One thing to note they are cash only.
