The food is just great and I loved the fast paced atmosphere! If you have never been here before, grab a paper menu right when you come in and figure out your order before you get in line! If you have a large group send someone to claim a table upstairs.
I think I need to give this place a second chance and try the sushi this time. The service is prompt and courteous, the ambiance is great, the outdoor seating is great but that’s where all the positive stops for me. My friend received a dirty spoon for your miso soup. And it didn’t get any better after that. We had noodle dishes which I think might be our error. The food was lacking. Over cooked seafood, bland flavorless dishes and nothing to rave about. I have heard the sushi is great but unfortunately I didn’t have sushi and therefore was disappointed. With so many options I don’t know if I want to give this place a second shot.
Outstanding!. We went on a whim the other night and the food was outstanding! My husband is half Japanese and was enamored of the sushi because it wasn’t made with huge wads of rice like so many other places. I had the sea bass, and it was so delicious that I actually ate everything on the plate. We saw many other things on the menu that we look forward to trying. We will definitely be back with our kids, who LOVE sushi.
Best Sushi in Evanston by a landslide. This is up there with Campagnola & Stained Glass in terms of quality.
Great Sushi. Prices are moderate and not too much more than other sushi places in the area.Staff is very attentive and will not leave you without your order, or your additional requests.Definitely try the Lake Shore roll if you like a little spicyness on your sushi. The spicy tuna is also really good. The All-you-can-eat maki is a good deal, and even thought they limit you on what you can order each time, they are always on the lookout fro when y ou are ready to order more. The French Saketini is superb.Recommended.
Good fish, sore seat. This should be a very nice place. The sushi is very good; the fish very fresh. The entre I had was a noodle dish. It was not bad but the sauce was much too sweet — not at all what I’ve come to expect of Japanese cuisine. The service was fine but it seemed that our server was afraid that something was going to go wrong. He interrupted us over and over again to check that things were OK. However, at the point we needed our drinks refilled he was nowhere to be found. I would go back for the sushi… except for the fact that the seating is VERY uncomfortable. I sat on a wood bench with no cushion. I promise that it was painful.Overall, I’d say go for the sushi, skip the kitchen and bring your own seat cushion.
