Asian Euphoria at KOI. What a fun restaurant! The choices are a bit overwhelming so if you’re a first timer invite their staff to help you drill down; great apps – we went with Maki rolls that melted in your mouth- Y_U_M. Moved to China for entrees- awesom Salt and Pepper Shrimp and a dish withPork over sliced Rice Cake- double Y_U_M.The staff was great- the ambience is as well. My two friends and I were stuffed but ended up sharing an amazing Salt / Caramel Cake (really….so good. Hate to be redundant but…. Y_U_M). All in all a really nice night accentuated with a few draft Sapporo’s and a very reasonable price tag. Go enjoy KOI !
Ambiance Is Great. The restaurant has a really great ambiance. The sushi was good too . We went back a few nights later, brought some friends to get drinks. We sat in front of the fireplace and had a really good time.
Nice Atmosphere, Unexperienced Waitstaff. The food was pretty good, I liked the Mongolian Beef better than the Chicken Pad Thai, which didn’t have much flavor. The Edamame was great! They have a large menu with Thai, Chinese and Sushi on it. The service was not very good, I got the sence that the servers and bartenders were all college kids and this was their part time/ temporary job.
Horrible Service. I would never go back to this place.
Overall nothing special and slightly overpriced, but still worth visiting every so often for their great duck salad and tea selection
I ate here one of the first nights I moved to Chicago (I’m a student) and it is awesome. The sushi is suculent and the entees are equally as delicious. The crab wantons are so good you’ll crave them for a week. I highly recommend it, it is a tad expensive, but for the portion you get, you’ll definitely have left overs.
