Love the food & atmosphere. Just had brunch with my hubby and our server Don was awesome! Stuffed french toast was amazing & my husband loved his salmon cakes… I saw pics on the wall and noticed that a few celebs like Jennifer Hudson have been here and loved it too. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu & helped us with all our questions.We will be back to try your famous rotisserie chicken!Keep up the good work & great food : )Sarah
Not What It Used to Be. Mellow Yellow was not at all the place I grew to love of as a child. My last visit was 9/10/11. The waiter was impatient, distracted, and looked at his watch every 30 seconds. There was clearly a language barrier as well. I had gone with a group of six people and the restaurant refused to split the bill. The food was bland. I had two salmon cakes, home fries, scrambled eggs, and buttermilk pancakes. A lot of food for one entre’ but not worth the $10.00 I spent. A side of whipped cream and strawberries for the pancakes was $7.00 alone. The food was served quickly that was a plus. In total I spent $19.00 for food and left a $6.00 tip that I now regret. My credit card was charged twice. Once for the authorized amount of $25.00 and the second time for the full tab of $74.89 which was not authorized because the group paid the balance in cash. In summary a $200.00 meal for six people and a six day headache for one. Not worth it!

Eclectic mix but very tasty. I don’t think one really knows what to expect from Mellow Yellow. The outside says to me frat-boy bar, with its garish signs advertising all the specials. The inside is a cozy diner split in two rooms. The menu is a mix of diner breakfast, bar food, and some soul food. There are numerous veggie options, and the veggie burger I had there was pretty good. Unexpectedly, they have live music on some nights (Friday, I think?) — probably wouldn’t go out of my way for it, but it makes for a nice sidelight to dinner, and it warms the place up a lot.
