Nice for the Price. I was in the neighborhood and had about ten bucks in cash on me. This is a mans man diner. Simple, affordable and pretty tasty. I actually plan on taking a trip via public transportation tomorrow to see a movie and have breakfast. Wish me luck!
I don’t normally write reviews, however the food was so awful. I was compelled to let others know. The cornbeef was so salty that I could not eat it. My husband had the pestromi, roast beef and baloney sub. Again it was to salty to eat. If that wasn’t enough the service was worse. Thumbs down
Shar. I’ve been buying sandwiches from Morry’s since 1966 when it was in a tiny hut under the IC Station in Hyde Park. My children and their friend attended Bret Harte School very close by after Morry’s moved to the middle of the block on 55th Street between Lake Park and Cornell. Morry, the owner was always there until he died. He loved the children and the children loved him. The current owners are truly living up to Morry’s style of sandwiches and service. I currently live in another state. When I come for a visit a trip to Morry’s is always on my calendar. The sandwiches and extras, the breakfasts, the hamburgers, are still the BOMB. My favorite is Pastrami and roast beef combination on an onion roll with mushrooms and peppers with everything on behind the counter, i.e mustard, mayo, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and always the Morry’s pickle. My mouth is watering just thinking about. Service is great!
My wife found this place for us to eat at when we Visited the Museum of Science and Industry. Short walk from the museum – perfect after being inside. I ordered the corned beef on rye with mustard. Fabulous sandwich. Kids had cheeseburgers. They were big and fully consumed. Not much space inside, but we did not have trouble getting a table.
Great Corned Beef. The best Corned Beef I have ever had. Great quality food at a very reasonable price. If you have not tried this places it is amazing. Also love the chicken breast which they cook fresh and it is in a fabulous marniade. Turkey club, Burgers….pretty much everything are is really great. Love this place!!!
OOOOHHH–WEEEE. One of my fondest memories of atending Lutheran School of Theology was the lunch breaks at Morry’s Deli. Every Monday, I would have the soup of the day and a cominbation corned beef and pastrami sandiwch on wheat with mayo, mustard, onions, and cheddar cheese. OOOOOHHHHH—-WEEEEEEE. I can taste it now!
Excellent Corned Beef? You bet!. This is the only place on the Southside where I can get corned beef that reminds me of the old days. If someone knows of another place–PLEASE for the love of God tell me where it’s at!!! I live in the south burbs now and I need my corned beef!!!
