My friend and I went there with the three kids ages 2.5,4 and 5 years old. The 2.5 year old is nonverbal autistic. We bring toys to keep the kids entertained, and they were doing good. The baby started crying and having a sensory overload. We were there during lunch. No one was really there so I got up and walked around with the baby. I passed this one table many times. These customers proceeded to say horrible things about how I am a horrible parent and how I should just discipline my kid then send him to bed. Each time I passed them, they would say something. They were very loud snout their remarks. Even when I sat back down the comments would keep flowing as well as the dirty looks. I couldn’t take it so I VERY. Politely( which isn’t me when I am hurt and angry) told them that I didn’t appreciate what they were saying and I explained he was autistic. They gave me a dirty look and didn’t say anything so I just sat back down. THE HOSTESS then came up to me and told me I’m not allowed to say anything to the customers because I could insult them. I explained the situation and she didn’t care and proceeded to tell me that next time I need to not say anything. Excuse me? I’m really upset that the hostess sat there and yelled at me for defending the kids and myself. I sat there and I cried because it’s all I could do. I’m never going bsck there. The way this hostess was is uncalled for. I’m just at a loss for words. Our waitress even said that the hostess had no right. From the customers comments to the hostesses, it was a horrible experience. The waitresses were amazing though. Thank you to our waitress and the one waitress who gave the kids cherries. You two were incredible and I wish I knew your names. You guys deserve to work at a better place with actual standards. Als seems to lack compassion, common decency, respect, kindness and morals.I will make sure to let everyone know how Als treats its customers, how they allow their hostess to speak to others and how they cater to their regulars and are very disrespectful towards special needs children especially one who is 2.5, nonverbal, autistic, globally developmentally delayed and has sensory processing disorder. I am truly disgusted with my experience.
Worst restaurant ever!!!!. Worst restaurant ever! We made a reservation and still had to wait 30 minutes to get seated. Also the food its quite expensive for the quality, I don’t mind paying 40 dollars for a plate but the food wasn’t good at all. All I ate was the bake potato. I will not be going back since the staff forgot about us couple times and even the staff in the front was rude.
Old Favorite. Good Joliet standby. Steaks are good and it’s the only place around where you can still get liver and onions. Service has always been good and never had a problem getting a seat except for Sunday brunch. Gotta get there early.
The salad bar & lobster & chicken florentine were divine!!! Oh and the french onion soup was also delicious and different with swiss cheese- I liked it. Decorum is ver decandant and classy reminded me of the movie Scarface. It seems like a place mobsters would eat at lol. Our waiter Jason B. was very proper and sophisticated. Great food! Great service! These other reviews could not be more wrong, and I am 35- not a senior citizen. I will be back, & I want Jason as our waiter again! This place is as good as Capitol Grill!!!
Used to be good, but the last couple of times we’ve eaten there, the service is horrible, the food is overpriced, and it tastes like a tv dinner!! Too bad, this place used to be good. Now it’s just a senior citizen hangout.
Peyton Place. The waitresses are hot and easy
