I cannot express deeply enough how warmly my large group was welcomed like treasured family guests to this beautiful Italian restaurant in a historic looking old brick building, saved in an area surrounded by modern construction just off the Fox River in St. Charles. After an extremely poor experience just down the road, a portion of our group landed here as if finding an oasis in the city desert. Table hospitality was continued and frequent. Never were we in need to ask for anything, but our wants were always anticipated. Food was top notch and portions were large enough for splitting AND sharing! Red sauces were clearly lovingly prepared over many hours of time. Every vegetable was as fresh and perfectly cooked as the next. Sausage had spice but not over powered. Meat-a-balls were the size of of base-a-balls and fabulous! Seafood was fresh and tender–scallops perfectly seared and finished. I especially loved the Isalate Rustica–a spring greens salad with blue cheese, pecans, port cured pears and a raspberry vinagrette (whole pecans!!) the only reason I didnt give a perfect rating is because I didn’t feel the cream sauce was up ti the standard of every other item (a bit on the thin side and missing the level of nutmeg I love.)PLEASE frequent this lovely family restaurant! You will come away full AND as happy as any long lost cousin being welcomed over for Sunday Gravy!

When we were all finished the server brought us the bill, I put my card in and set it at the edge if the table. Our server was sitting 2 tables away from us in plain view shoving her mouth with food as I waited for her to take my card. It took her 5 minutes to come back and ring the card.
Favorite Italian in the area. Not a huge italian restaurant fan, but my gf is so we end up eating at italian restaurants alot.With so much competition this is my pick in the St. Charles area. I used to love Francescas, but lately its been a little disappointing, so ZaZa is definitely is my choice for italian. Pastas taste always fresh and you can’t go wrong with the fish.
Had the pork chop special tonight with mushrooms. It was freaking money!!!
One of the best resturants in the area but the sisters restaurants don’t compare but the price does add up fast but it is worth it.
Superb Italian Dining-Zaza. Enjoy great food, wine and a view of the river. Be sure to wait for table in the front dining area. They added on recently, with an adjacent room that’s very noisy. Lots of great dinner choices. Recommend the Rottoli pasta, with cheese and spinach filling. Good wine selections. Moderately priced.
The food is great!! Portions are big enough for two. Try the bruscetta for an appetizers. The half chicken in white wine is excellent. And the tirimisu is to die for!!! Prices are great!! You’ll have enough for a glass of wine!
