Went with my parents (former residents), hubby, and two kids for Easter breakfast. Service was prompt and attentive, food was excellent for all (even kids!) and prices were very fair. Parents said as good as they recall from years ago. We dont get to the city often, but this has joined our standards list.
Belmont, Lakeview location. Stopped in with visitors from out of town on a Sunday morning. Short wait at 11 AM, but large crowd waiting by the time we were done. The Lingonberry syrup on the Monte Cristo Breakfast Special was delicious! A LOT of food with the two sides. The Cinnamon Rolls were good on the side, maybe a little over hyped for me. Definitely Recommend.
This is a must every trip we make to Chicago. The cinnamon rolls are the best ever! Other favorites are Swedish pancakes, meatballs, omelets and good Swedish coffee. The place is full of locals and neighborhood residents, not touristy at all.
Yay for Eli ‘s birthday!! Dorim Lee was nice enough to get us cinnamon rolls from Ann Sather in Lakeview! Super yummy, especially after being heated. Tasted very fresh.
The cinnamon rolls at all Ann Sather locations are wonderful. The rest of the food is mediocre and, if you’re on a budget, not worth the price for the quality. My suggestion, if you live near an Ann Sather: buy a couple cinnamon rolls straight from the cash register, brew some coffee, and sit at home with friends or a book to enjoy. Saves you a lot of dough and the gives you all the satisfaction the restaurant has to offer.
Less than impressed. The cinnamon rolls were incredible, as expected, however the rest of the meal was mediocre at best. I tried the imitation crab cakes Benedict and had to send it back. The eggs were not cooked to order and the cakes had such a strong onion taste that it completely overpowered any crab taste. I replaced my entree with two sausage patties that looked as though they came from a local middle school cafeteria; mushy and wet. My boyfriend had the southern decadence Benedict and was extremely pleased, then again it’s difficult to screw up biscuits and gravy. The waiter was very nice and attentive and quickly rectified my distaste for my meal but I don’t see us returning.
Swedish Pancakes… Yes!. I love to come to Ann’s whenever I am in town. This is my favorite location (I think). The Swedish Meatballs and the Swedish Pancakes with Lingonberries are just like my grandma used to make. The cinnamon rolls are some of the best restaurant rolls I’ve had, they give you two and I’ve never been able to finish them both.
