I like Bakin’ & Eggs. I recommend Bakin’ and Eggs as a great breakfast restaurant. I ordered the Bacon Waffle.Wow, it was delicious, and I recommend that you try it if you eat here. Here is the menu description: bacon & rum batter + butter + maple syrup + bacon garnishTo me, the waffle was perfectly balanced: not too heavy and not too light, neither tough nor chewy, great combo of crisp and soft, cooked correctly and neither raw nor doughy inside. The rum flavor in the batter was subtle but delicious. There was a generous amount of bacon cooked in the batter. The butter was a soft whipped butter, so it spread easily over the waffle. The bacon garnish was a large strip of crispy bacon placed on top of the waffle. The Intelligentsia coffee was fabulous.I was there at 9:00 a.m. on a Thursday morning, so there was no wait and no crowds at the tables. But of course they can be quite busy during normal meal times and weekend brunch. The light and airy dcor with the high ceilings made a beautiful ambience; I dont know if the size makes it noisy during busy times or not.I had an awesomely friendly and competent server. I drank a mug of coffee with my meal, and when I indicated that Id be eating and leaving relatively quickly, she asked if I wanted additional coffee to go, and brought me a nice full cup to take with me.When it comes to the price of restaurant food, Ive totally lost perspective regarding what is bargain, appropriate or overpriced. Lately, to me, everything seems expensive!! The entre I described was $9.00 and the bottomless coffee was $2.50. Thats probably normal for this type of restaurant in Chicagos Lakeview and Lincoln Park neighborhoods.

Our favorite spot for brunch with friends. The chalkboards are endless entertainment for the kids of all ages, chai lattes are well done and we’ve never left less than a clean plate behind when ordering pancakes of all kinds and the bacon flight. Yum!

Breakfast. My first time at Bakin &Eggs. Delicious food, huge portions, friendly and helpful wait staff. Would recommend to everyone and can’t wait to go back.

Could be more, but with service like this….. When looking for a special breakfast, I would suggest looking elsewhere. If a resturant is judged on food alone, this could be a good spot. The breakfast burrito was very good with just the right amount of heat to the green salsa. the pancakes were pancakes (nothing special but ok) and the breakfast sandwich was overpriced but interesting. These things could be overlooked if it was not for a staff that looked as if they wished to be somewhere else. We arrived early before the infamous crowd. When asked for the bacon on the side for the burrito, it never arrived. When asked for water, two were brought when there were three of us. The coffee cup ran empty with no offer to refill until we were about to leave. And this was when the servers outnumbered the patrons 2-1. Sorry but this is inexcusable and it is sad. Could be an outstanding spot due to a good menu and concept, but instead is a disappointment. Where is the managment????

Sunday at noon is not the time to go. Two hours from when we walked in until we left. Good choice of breakfast and bakery items. If you love rosemary you’ll enjoy many selections. Don’t go if you wish a quiet Sunday brunch, very loud with conversations.

Great food, really great sweets. The kitchen can send out great food, but the servers need more help! It took a long time for someone to remember our table belonged to them and how to explain the menu. But when it arrived it was fantastic! So were the little pies we took home
