Over two hour delivery time. I was extremely disappointed with the service and the food – especially after reading good reviews. It took almost two hours for our food to be delivered (says one hour on the website). After calling several times to check on the order, the driver finally arrived, but our food was cold and we knew the sushi had been sitting in a car for over an hour. I will not be ordering from Jai Yen again.

Sweet & Sour. Well we were up in town and decided to meet up with a friend here, she had frequently ordered delivery but never ate inside. We were greeted with an unpleasant odor, rather like open sewer. But as we had smelled similar wafting from the city grates throughout our day I decided that maybe it was related and pressed on. We were seated in a nice window alcove inside and placed our orders. While waiting I dropped a chopstick and after retrieving it from the floor – it came back covered in ants. OK We were by the window, ants happen. Pressing on, though I wasn’t thrilled at this point. Fortunately we had grown accustomed to the smell. For starters we ordered a plate of Lumpia and the Sweet Potato Maki. The lumpia was ok, I’ve had better, I wasn’t thrilled with the texture of the pork inside. It was similar to eating a piece of breakfast sausage in an egg roll wrapper – I think that I’ve just been spoiled by my Filipino friends home cooking. The sweet potato maki was a delight though! A lovely combination of flavors, not too soggy, just the right amount of crisp in the tempura. I could happily eat one by myself for dinner. Entrees… I ordered the Pad Thai Jai Yen, which was well presented and very tasty, especially with the fresh lemon squeezed on top. There were two types of tofu, and the firm fried tofu was just how I like it! We also had the Goy See Mee, which was good and had a very flavorful sauce. The staff was very attentive and friendly, and our drinks never ran dry. We walked out with full bellies and very pleased, so other than some cosmetic problems it was a great time and I would go back again to try more of the menu.

Outstanding Experience!. Not having eaten that Sunday, we arrived very hungry at 3:00 p.m.. Jai Yen was a great experience! As an appetizer, we had Spicy Mussels and Lumpia followed by main entrees Chicken Teriyaki and Yakisoba. Wanting a salad I tried the Seaweed (very tasty!). Then for desert we went for the Mochi (Mango and Green Tea). A nice way to cap off a good dinner! Small, but just enough of a treat!!Recommend it? ABSOLUTELY! And we drove a half hour to get there!
