Just stopped here for a quick beer before a Cubs Game. The place is not fancy but has tons of beers on draft and in cans. Server is really nice and as attentive as a regular bar server. There is a very limit menu but for a bar its good.
Negative! Coming into this restaurant, we had hopeful thoughts about the food and service. However, we quickly realized this to be false. The service was extremely slow, and often brought the wrong drinks, condiments, and food to the table. Once we got our correct food, there was something wrong with every meal. Some were a little cold, there was a bone in the chicken tenders (not intentionally), and we never got the condiments we asked for. When we are visiting this area of town next time, we will not be coming back.
Horrible service. Waitress forgets beer. Orders wrong food. We have to get our own beer from bar. We have to ask for our tab from other wait staff. No tip earned. It takes a lot for me not to tip!
Wow!!!. This place is pure b.s. They have employees that work there that doesn’t take of their kids and to make matter’s worst the owner’s doesn’t take the child support out their check’s. It really is a hole in the wall establishment.
It’s not a bad place just dont go there expecting anything other than a filthy, stinky, large bar and pub grub.
I’ve no basis for comparing with pre-renovation Cubby Bear, but I think this place delivers exactly what it advertises. It’s a great pre and post game watering hole or meeting place. Nothing special but the location. Our party snacked on wings & garlic fries, they both met expectations. I was a little disappointed in the Dixie Cup thimbleful of beer that you get for $6.
Underwent a huge renovation since my last visit 4 + yrs ago. It was a lot nicer/cleaner but WAY more expensive! Good place to meet up after the game.
