Very decent indeed. Chicago is becoming a good place to find reasonable CA wines. We prefer St Inez, St Barbara, Paso, etc for their dry mineral clarity and interesting mix of fruits. D.O.C. has a bottle and glass list that is as good as most, but the small plate selections outshine anything we’ve found thus far in Chi, The cheese selections are excellent but the in house smoked meats are superior. The duck breast is the best I’ve had, and I love and seek out smokers with unusual skills. Service was also excellent and the final bill, with my usual large tip, was a good investment in two hours of excellent wine and food.Four of five stars from both of us.
