Very good food!. We went in there a couple weeks ago. The bar was cool and very old school Chicago. We expected typical bar food but we were blown away by the extensive menu and the food was some of the best we have had! Hats off to the chefs!
Pretty Bad. Overall, had pretty lousy experience here. The menu is about as boring as it gets, but this place can’t seem to handle even the most common staples. The burger was bad, fish ‘n’ chips were worse – the fish was greasy with a thick, unappetizing batter and fries were just plain awful. It’s a shame, because the setting and location aren’t bad and with a real cook, this could become a great neighborhood place. Staff were completely incompetent, but with food this mediocre, who really cares anyway? I will admit that the one thing they do well is re-create that feeling you have when you rush through one of those generic, institutionally-managed airport ‘grills’ – feels bad going down, and worse the whole way home.
My boyfriend and I were looking for someplace to eat in Lincoln park after seeing the Christmas lights at the Lincoln zoo. When he mentioned Four Farthings, which he found on the open table app I was not too excited but decided to give it a shot. SO glad I did. It is a small but cozy bar/grill with an excellent menu. My boyfriend got the duck w/ a cranberry sauce or glaze and I had a grilled, marinated chicken breast. These were well beyond expectation and looked and tasted like something from a very nice restaurant and you cant beat the prices!! If you have the chance give this place a try.
The onion soup was really bad and the burger was only mediocre. Whilst I feel it defintally has potential as it is a great space, it needs a revised menu with better food
I heart you Four Farthings!. I’ve been here on a few occasions for dinner, always during the warmer months so we could take advantage of the outside patio seating and the people-watching on Lincoln. Absolutely love the view and the umbrella tables, as well as the fine dining style of the food. it’s hard to believe that this place is more known of as a bar than a restaurant. Everything we’ve had here has been great and we’ve had a couple excellent bottles of wine as well. The service is always great. Definitely looking forward to it warming up here soon for another nice patio dinner!
