So if you’re in Chicago, then you have to try a Chicago hot dog. The reality is the hot dog isn’t much different from a NY dog, but what they pile on it is. I had a Portillo’ classic and it was quite good. The toppings make it a very interesting eat and also being on a poppy seed bun. I also tried the grilled Italian sausage sandwich, which the sausage was very tasty and the club roll was excellent. The only issue is that it doesn’t come with onions or peppers, just the sausage and bread. The only real disappointment was the fries, which were not crisp and dull. Overall well worth a trip.
