We stopped here for a to go order. We got the Portillo classic dog and it was so good. I did not think that all of that stuff on a hot dog would taste so good, but it did. Each dog was about $3. It was fast, the service was great and we were satisfied.
Food is excellent! The stuffed shrimp appetizer is fabulous. Staff is very friendly and attentive. The tres leche cake is to die for. We will definitely be back.
El Cid delivers. There’s that. It’s good Mexican food, but nothing really stands out. I tried their whole guachinango (red snapper) and that was really good. I’ve had some awesome tacos, chorizo being the highlight. The best part about this place is the lovely back patio they have, which is like walking into a street festival in Mexico. Lots of colors and upbeat music. Since it’s in the back, you get that awesome feeling of being outside, but in a more private way.
They have amazing margaritas at El Cid. When it’s warm out, check out their outdoor patio in the back. If you like to people watch they also have seats out front for customers to enjoy. I really like their homemade pico de gallo salsa that comes with the complimentary chips. Their chicken empanadas are also amazing! Tacos don’t impress me but some of their entree meals (like the enchiladas) are also very good. stellasout.com
Not a fan. My wife and mother had the fish tacos and they said the fish was dry. I had chicken fajitas and I found it to be bland and dry as well. My father had the nachos and it looked pretty good so I had a taste and it was much better than my meal.
I know food and this place serves bad food! Save your time and money. This place is awful.
Great Spot on Logan Square. The food here is fantastic. If you aren’t in the mood for mexican fare, the sandwiches they offer are larger than you’d expect and taste great.Love it.
