I was walking to the UPS store when it started pouring (thanks, Chicago weather)… lucky for me, I noticed a new coffee shop right past Bang Bang Pie Shop. Logan Square needs more coffee shops, right? Jokes. But, I had to get out of the rain and check it out.It’s pretty small, but has a nice vibe. I could tell La Strada must’ve recently opened because the owner and his young employee seemed both eager and frazzled, but they were very nice! After reviewing the standard coffee, pastry, and sandwich menu, I decided to order their oatmeal smoothie. They mix oatmeal, a banana, granola (instead of syrups), cinnamon/nutmeg, and your choice of milk… I opted for almond milk, and it was delicious. Prices aren’t bad either.I think they have some kinks to work out, but I have high hopes for this place. If the line is too long at Bang Bang, you should give it a try!
