Went here on Monday mainly to check out the place and area and into is a good place to go with friends and a place to go if you want to stay in Logan Square. Got a cocktail called The Unknown University (which was gin based) and good.
My wife and I had breakfast here before our flight as we have at times in the past. We both had omelettes, though two different kinds and they were mediocre at best. I originally ordered pancakes because the menu said they came with maple syrup; turns out that’s not the case and the syrup was the synthetic kind. The whole wheat toast was barely toasted and the grocery shelf loaf of bread type. Service was ok but the place has gone downhill and I wouldn’t return, especially for breakfast.
Great location, charming decor, amazing food. Taking off one point because of the drinks- they were fine enough but didn’t live up to the hype.
I’m never ever disappointed here. Everything is always phenomenal, and they slightly change or add to the menu almost weekly. You would think this place should be so pretentious, but it’s so not. Just trendy enough, but it stays humble and still deserves all the praise it receives. Some personal faves: Beef Tartare and Bone Marrow are a must. The Octopus is also a new favorite. The Pork Tenderloin (usually only available around the fall) will change your life. Cocktails are on point and the service is pleasant and so knowledgeable. Save room for dessert and come back for brunch the next day. Just move in upstairs (they have rooms for rent, so you never have to leave). instagram.com
I ordered the chicken and waffles and LOVED IT! One of the better chicken & waffle dish I’ve tried. Having OSB doughnuts is also a plus! Great place, good vibes.
