Went with a group of 12 on a business dinner. The apps were good, but the rest of the food was nothing special. I had the soup special which was nothing but soggy bean broth with no flavor. I also had the risotto special with steak on it. The risotto was overcooked and mushy and the meat was like dog food. It had no flavor. I will not go back again when I’m back in Chicago.
Pure Genius. Whenever I visit Chicago, I have to stop in at 312 for the most incredible food and service. The chefs are brilliant, and always offer up imaginative and unique options that never disappoint. Tonight I enjoyed an incredible dish of perfectly seared scallops atop a salsa of fresh pineapple in a balsamic reduction. Pure genius. I also truly appreciate the staff. Even though I am only in Chicago a few times a year, the staff recognizes me and welcomes me back. Chef visits the tables and converses about the dishes, making me feel like part of the family. If you are in the area, you have to try this place!
Mediocre. My girlfriend and I went here due to the proximity to our hotel and overall found it quite underwhelming. Her tortellini soup was salty and uninspired and my ravioli was SWIMMING in butter and the filling was not appetizing whatsoever. My girlfriend left hungry, not a good sign at an Italian restaurant. The food was overpriced and the chefs seemed to be lacking both creativity and basic culinary sense. Was not impressed.
Very good rigatoni. Ordered off the prefix menu… $35. Service was Impeccable! Water constantly filled, food brought out and fries… And my server, grace, was Attentive not overbearing and helpful with the menu.I have the potato and leek soup then the rigatoni bolognese and tiramisu for dessert… yum. When I first arrived… I thought the price point was a little high. But I need to reconsider that, the service the food and the ambience are all well worth it
Great appetizers… Nice wine list! Interesting varied menu…. Beautiful lamb shank, excellent tortellini. Tell the guy behind the bar to stop pitching wine bottles, its damn annoying!!!!!
Great restaurant. I had the Insalata Tonno. It was fantastic with great seared tuna, dressing and even a surprise potato salad under the lettuce. The unique breads were also a treat.
Excellent. Gourmet dining, good value, great wine list. We enjoyed the ‘quartinos’ of wine we got. Restaurant was crowded but not too loud and got prompt service. Great location near the theater district.
