Great, healthy fast-casualFound this place on Yelp. Always like to try new fast casual places. This one has a simple menu layout, with a build-your-own or their recommendations. I did one of their recommended bowls (earth, curry and fire) with tofu. It took about 4-5 minutes to prepare. All of the vegetables that went into it were still bright and crunchy. Good soda to go with it, and I was happy.
Outstanding addition to the Loop – clean design, some locally sourced ingredients, super tasty food, quick service. Guaranteed success and I would guess their growth will be rapid. I’ll definitely be back. 50statesofwine.com
Nice bright vibrant place, very friendly staff. The theme is select your sauce, base, veggies and proteins and they will stir fry in a wok for you.I chose Thai Basil sauce with white rice, carrots, sprouts, broccoli and onions.Food was healthy as they use antibiotic free chicken.Nothing finger licking about it.They have some interesting drinks, but didn’t try any.
Crunchy, tasty, savory, healthy, delicious, satisfying, fresh. A few words to describe my new favorite restaurant. Brightwok is a beautiful light-filled space, well organized, super clean, and a meal here wont break the bank. The Thai basil sauce on my husbands stir fry was fabulous, as was my coconut curry sauce and the friendly line cooks put on just the right amount, enough to flavor the ingredients but not swimming in sauce. Having the brown rice option is also a plus.In addition to eating stir fries for lunch, we got salads to go. The veggies were so fresh and the salads so large, they lasted through several meals. The food was well packed, nothing leaked, and the shopping bag was convenient for carrying it home.BTW, everything on the menu is gluten-free.If youre feeling virtuous after eating all the healthy veggies and protein, try the Sinful Banana Chips for dessert. Yum!
I have found my new favorite lunch spot in the Loop! Somehow I walked past this place twice a day until I realized it was open and man, am I glad I went in. There was a line already formed when a friend and I arrived around noon. It moved fairly quickly, especially because an employee was taking orders through the line before we got to the front. The counter is set up Chipotle-style, with choose-your-own stir fry or salad combos. The decor is light and bright, just like its name.I got the stir fry with white rice, chicken, chili coconut curry sauce and my choice of 4 veggies (broccoli, sprouts, carrots, and zucchini). I watched as my order was cooked in a wok right in front of me. And it was sooooo delicious! The curry was so flavorful and I ate every last bite. My friend ordered the Eat Right Stir Fry, and while she liked her dish, she said it seemed to have more oil than my creamy stir fry. We both had Joe Tea Half and Half which was refreshing and sweet. Overall, I love Brightwok Kitchen! It had all the yummy flavors of Asian cuisine, while being healthy and didn’t leave me feeling weighed down like other Asian lunches. windycity-wanderlust.blogspot.com
