I grabbed a morning coffee and scone everyday during my stay in Chicago. The atmosphere is great. What a unique little shop. The staff were great, the coffee was amazing and the baked goods are delicious. Don’t miss out!
Went here for breakfast one day whilst visiting Chicago. There was a nice range of fresh pastries and muffins which all looked very nice. The lemon and poppyseed muffin was good, but the coffee was a bit weird.
Nice little coffee place, one of those things you tend to drop in again, because they feel homely. Had my tasty coffee and a good muffin. What else do you need?
Worth a visit for a well done brewed coffee. I prefer to spend my dollars at local spots like this and am rarely disappointed. While the seating area is average and the clientele of the town, I appreciate a good cup. Stop in for one!
Went to Cafe Descartes because it was across the street from our hotel. The cozy decor, quality coffee drinks, and fun barista really made the experience great. Reasonably priced, too. Much preferred this to the Starbucks down the street.
We visited there late morning and were the only people in the coffee shop. The service was unfriendly and slow despite there being two staff on and we only ordered coffee and pastries. Disappointing and I wouldn’t return if I was in Chicago again.
