Visited this landmark for lunch because we knew that trying a Chicago style hotdog (without ketchup) is part of the Chicago experience and Portillo’s did not disappoint. The place was packed but they move the queue along promptly, so you don’t wait long for your food. The hotdog was great but the bun was soggy, which I assume is due to the fact that they are prepared and wrapped in advance to speed up food delivery. Tried the chocolate cake shake because it is a novelty but would have preferred to eat the cake and milkshake separately. Portillo’s is a fun, clean and busy place, which is exactly what we expected as tourists.

I had charcuterie for dinner and loved everything but the ritz crackers, would have been nice to have a piece of Italian bread in it’s place.
