For a $20-meal, this is not bad. The ribs are delicious and perfectly cooked. The sauce did not overpower the meat. It goes well with the coleslaw. Soda was bottomless. The french fries was a little dry and tough.

Great service unexciting food. Spicy chili was bland and pasta ordinary. Overall just an ordinary meal with no pizazz. Atmosphere great for kids or drinking adults.

I went here the other day for dinner and it’s always a nice little place to go to in the Loop. The food is pretty good and they have all kinds of stuff for all ages, including chicken tenders, multiple different types of sandwiches and burgers, pizza both thin crust and deep dish, all of which is good, and they also provide steak dinners. Overall, it’s the kind of place that you could go for any occasion.Let’s talk about layout. The bar is right there as you walk in, about 12-14 spaces and the rest looks like pretty much what anyone would expect it to. There are booths lining the walls, which are very comfy by the way, multiple tables and high tops, and a second dining room used for over flow and banquets. The interior matches and has nice decoration including old posters of Humphrey Bogart movies. The floor is also carpeted, the room is well lit, it’s semi quiet, and if you happen to be alone, they have TVs you can watch. It’s a pretty great date spot and there’s a parking lot right across the street, though since it’s the Loop you’ll have to pay for it.If you happen to get a tall, young, black-haired woman as your waitress, don’t fret if she doesn’t write anything down. We ordered two pizzas, both with 5+ ingredients each, a burger, and a couple appetizers and they all came out perfect. She took zero notes. It’s a pretty great talent. The only thing I’d like to point out is that if the drink you want isn’t on their cocktail list, you’ll probably have to go up to the bar yourself to order it, and if at that point they don’t know how to make it, they will try to accommodate you as best as possible.

Terrible Chicago Pub. We visited about 9 pubs on our trip to Chicago. This ranks #9 only because we didn’t visit more.Their pizza is terrible, no flavor or seasoning. Service was poor, waitress ignores you. Bartender was yelling at the staff while we were there (a little scary!) Expensive pub food too. Stay away!

Great Pub. If you like the old family owned pubs with a lot of history and a cool atmosphere, do yourself a favor and visit the Exchequer. They have a large bar with a variety of domestic and craft beers on tap. However, the bar stools are the old pub style, mid back, wrap around that goes well with the decor, but not suited for the big man. Not to worry, they have several 2-4 top bar tables with comfortable bar stools with no back rests and a dining room full of 4 top tables. Their menu has a variety of food to choose from with out the big city prices. The staff was extremely friendly and they knew their menu. I ordered the Pick Three Trio appetizer with wings, rings, and poppers ($9.95) along with the Pub Reuben w/ a side of slaw($10.25) The Trio arrived with enough for 4 to try at least one of each and they did not skimp on the sweet chili sauce or the spicy ketchup. The Reuben was Packed full of meat and the flavor was unlike any other I have eaten. Fat Guys Advocate says 9 out of 10.
