I was about to make some pun about how Le Pain was a bit of a pain of the ass today, but I decided that was rather elementary. And the reason I like to go to the Le Pain in Lincoln Park is because I’m a grown-up and like to feel it sometimes. However, Le Pain’s Loop outlet did not do much to make feel anything other than a hot, hungry, and frustrated kid. A girlfriend and I went around 1:30 pm, missing the brunch rush. Unfortunately, the server most have thought his Sunday shift was over. We waited 10 min for someone to greet us, and than an additional 15 for our water. Which I would have gotten over, except we had been walking in the July heat.Food’s pretty good, if really pricey. Everything tastes fresh and looks beautiful when presented. When I had to ask for the check, the server looked startled, as if he had forgotten we were even there. I’d come back to grab a crossiant, but not for brunch.
