Monk’s Pub for a quick bite to eat after work down in the loop. It was slammed for a Wednesday night, but the service was still alright. I order the Poutine Burger and wasn’t too big of a fan. The burger itself was very good so I will order something different next time! It is a pub, peanuts on the floor and all; and I will be returning.
Service here is always great. The food is another story. I’m not sure if its different cooks at different times of the day but the food is hit or miss. Never seems to be consistent for some reason. The avocado chicken sandwich is awesome pretty much every time. Inside the decor is some of the coolest in Chi-town. Cool pub feeling with decent beer specials… take a shot, when the stars a line its a nice experience.
Loved the burgers at this pub. I had the Egg Burger which is basically a burger topped with ‘Bacon, cheddar cheese & a sunny-side up egg’. It was excellent super meaty patty, great bunand a soft yolked egg that oozed all over that baby to make a somewhat messy yet delicious affair
Great food, great atmosphere, and friendly locals! The portions were huge and the price was very affordable. Two ate for around $40! I will be back! I suggest the burger and the sweet potato fries!
Good casual pub. Had the loaded tots and they were good. Not a trendy, upscale place but good loop bar for a casual drink. Very busy and lively which makes for a fun time.
Burgers and fries were great but don’t order the spinach artichoke dip. It looked and tasted like they opened a can a creamed spinach added a shredded artichoke heart topped with a slice of cheese and microwaved the mix. Gross.
Great Burgers. Simply a nice burger (green-olive and feta) and beer joint – I go there fro lunch or after work. I have been going for 20 years and the place looks the same.
