Well decorated, edgy restaurant. Cool lounge to wait before seating. There’s a nice booth area and an open area in front that opens to the street when they open the windows. Nice craft cocktail list. Pricey.
Remington’s has a dark, clubby atmosphere. There were a few featured cocktails to start the dinner as well as wines be the glass. I tried a prosecco concoction, can’t remember the name, that really wasn’t very good. But the rest of the experience was much more positive. We started with the lobster deviled eggs and these aren’t your church social deviled eggs. The lobster added an interesting depth of flavor. The heirloom tomato salad was an unusual variation — the tomatoes were chopped and mixed in among the leaves of the spicy aurugula and strings of soft mozz. Prime rib is the first item listed among the entrees and it certainly deserves that pride of place. It was a flavorful, perfectly cooked piece of beef. If you prefer a smaller cut of beef, consider the 8 oz filet. Each bite melted on the tongue. Tried the crab cake — another solid choice.Prompt, attentive and courteous service. Noise level was not overwhelming.
I came to Remington’s for dinner on a weeknight and scored patio seating. 5 stars for a great wine list and awesome patio seating. However the main dishes that my boyfriend and I ordered were not quite right for us. We ordered prime rib and a walleye special. Both dishes tasted safe and we were left wanting more seasoning. That being said, the crab cake was delicious and the rest of their menu sounds great and I will certainly give this play another try. I’m very curious about their oysters. Bottom line, great place for drinks after work, but food is hit or miss. butterandtype.com
Came here after work for dinner and drinks. This place has a great outdoor patio right across from millennium park. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the crab toast. Very fresh and flavorful. I will definitely come back and I recommend this place.
