Wow what an incredible experience enjoying a famous Chicago Dog at one of the best restaurants in Chicago. It was within walking distance from our hotel and the Dog, Polish Sausage, and Italian sausage met all our expectations. Especially the Chicago Dog!

I ordered the Poutine, Pimento Cheese Dip with Chips, and Soft Pretzel with Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Dip. The Poutine came with bacon and peas and was super cheesy and delicious, not weighed down in gravy like Poutine can be. The Pimento Dip was good, but far and away, the real winner was the pretzel with goat cheese and red pepper dip. It tasted like a jalapeo popper without being fried, and the pretzel was crispy on the outside and super soft on the inside.

We stopped in last night after work for drinks and appetizers. I was disappointed they haven’t jumped on the Happy Hour train yet and they didn’t have any specials. But I really liked the cocktail I ordered, the Mistress – a cool, refreshing grapefruit flavored drink. If you like grapefruit, you’ll love this cocktail. My husband got the Blueberry Vandermill Cider and got a free State/Lake coosie with each can.For food we tried the Poutine, Pimento Cheese Dip with Chips, and Soft Pretzel with Red Pepper and Goat Cheese Dip. I don’t usually like goat cheese, but I loved this. And the presentation of all the dishes was creative. The only downside was the service. Apparently we got caught in a shift change and had quite the time trying to track someone down to pay our bill (like 20+ minutes of waiting for someone give our money to). Luckily the food and drinks were on point, so this didn’t sully our experience too much. windycity-wanderlust.blogspot.com

Great food and service. All of the hotel staff is great! Had breakfast with the family, his have the chicken and waffles. Lightly smoky and delicious. The bacon was smoky peppered and large, perfectly cooked.

Decent Hotel Dining. While recently in Chicago on business decided rather than search for food it was easier and quicker to dine in my hotel, The WIT. It was Monday, there was lots of table availability and the service was attentive. I ordered the fish tacos. They were made with swordfish, pan-seared, and served with a fresh slaw, and avocado ranch on corn tortillas with a spicy salsa sauce on the side. I thought these tacos were a bit pricey ($16) but had a good taste. I felt the slaw was freshly prepared but the dish was light on fish. The burgers were recommended to me and I think I would go that route the next time.If you are looking for a quick meal in a pub atmosphere, there are lots of interesting ‘starters’ on the menu as well as good old staples like burgers. Give it a try.

Granted, it was Sunday night, but my server was capable and amiable; I found nothing discomfiting or distasteful about the atmosphere. And the food – the food! The salmon with chorizo, escarole & giant white beans was a different and oh so delicious combination of flavors. Paired with local Two Brothers ales, the first simply smooth & creamy, the second hoppy & strong, (reminiscent of my favorite King Wm Cask Ale at Blue Star in San Antonio) – excellent. Angel food cake for dessert – a deliciously surprising thin cake topped with vanilla ice cream and carmelized bananas… O M G. OK, no matter what the service may be at busier times -you’re not here to eat the service. I’ll definitely be back for another tasty surprise.

Gastro delight! Although we almost walked away thinking the spot was closed on a Sunday evening, our perseverance at trying the door was rewarded with simple fare with beguiling twists. The tartare and mussels were wonderful and the fritters & chips are a must! The setting is intimate and is as appropriate for dinner for two as it is for a group.
