The filets we had were tender and well seasoned. Perfectly cooked. We were happy with our meal. Baked potato with sides was generous and great presentation. Mushrooms were sooooo good but filling. I couldnt finish them. Wine selection by glass is lacking, but we had a nice glass just the same.
Our service was wonderful! And the cap steak is the way to go. Not a bad option if you are staying at the hotel, but I’m not sure I would seek Stetson’s out if I wasn’t.
Great Hotel Steakhouse. I don’t know that I’d come here if I wasn’t staying in the Hyatt – and that is NOT because it wasn’t a delicious meal, it’s mostly because you are obviously eating in a hotel. Food was good.
And i’m not a steak person.. My sister had just graduated from basic at the Great Lakes Naval base, and we they were granted a few hours of liberty leave. I was determined to show my parents that Chicago was a bangin’ place to eat. By the time evening rolled around , we were on something of a tight schedule, and we stopped in at Stetsons, which had technically not yet opened. The bar was open to the public, and the waitress was more than understanding about our time constraints. We sat at the bar, had wonderful drinks, and ordered from the bar menu, and we were all blessed with blissful, groan-worthy food with great service. And that was just the bar! I can only imagine what the dining room is like.
With so many wonderful steakhouses on Chicago, this one should NOT be overlooked. Great menu, amazing wine list and deserts. The main dishes are perfectly portioned with great presentation. I had the surf n turf, and both the filet and lobster tail were wonderful. Lastly the service was by far the best I have had in years. Consider this one a diamond in the rough.
