We went for an exclusive preview event of Sugar Bliss Cakes new summer ice pops. We tried the Blackberry Lime and the Coffee. The Blackberry Lime was packed with fresh lime and blackberry juice and was refreshing. The Coffee was made with Intelligentsia Coffee (BONUS!!) and tasted like a frosty melty iced coffee. We also got to sample their macarons, cake pops and cupcakes. I noticed people saying they aren’t they special but the reviews are old. They have unique flavors that you don’t see else where like a chocolate chili cupcake with a red hot popped on top and earl grey tea macarons. The cake pops were super moist and tasty and the macarons tasted fresh. The prices are comparable to other delish famous cupcake places in Chicago but we feel that Sugar Bliss has some new twists to share. Definitely check it out and grab some sweets when you are on your way to a summer Millennium or Grant Park event since you will be close by. chiorganicgirls.com
Stopped in here over the weekend and got a dozen Macaroons. Chocolate Peanut Butter, Pistachio, Mint Chocolate Chip, Salted Caramel and Lemon. They were all very fresh and great tasting…but very over priced. I got the macaroons and a bottle of water and it set me back $35. Good…but not good enough to go back.
Good stuff. The cupcakes here are tasty but not extraordinary; you’ll find the frosting to be fluffy and plentiful and the cake to be moist and not too sweet, but nothing about it sets it above the rest of the crowd of Chicago cupcake shops.
All Good Things, Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique. It appears that cupcakes are all the rage now. Fortunately for those of us in the metropolis of Chicago, there are several boutique bakeries popping up on the map to pander to the dessert palate. And Sugar Bliss is one of the many places to satisfy your dessert hankering. I have bought cupcakes from Sugar Bliss for the office and have had the pure chocolate, carrot, and red velvet. At some point I will try a few others. chicagoalphabetsoup.com
