As it was located in the JW Marriott, my expectation was quite high. An afternoon lunch with clients turned out to be a nice experience, but somehow the vibe of the place was low, as not many tables were occupied. The food was good and the portions were reasonable.

Wonderful Wait StaffThis restaurant is in the JW Marriott on West Adams Street in Chicago. We just had the most delicious dinner this evening. The pasta is fresh and light and delicious! Our waitress, Jamie Lee, made the evening for us. She really took care of us and was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We found the customer service to be exceptional and will definitely be coming back on our next visit to Chicago.

Old meets new Italian…. Candle-lit with beautiful finishes. Calamari alla Griglia is amazing, and a great alternative to traditional flash fried calamari.

The gnocchi melts in the mouth, duck was fantastic, crispy and juicy act the same time.

I approach hotel restaurants with healthy skepticism, but Florentine took me by surprise. The service was impeccable: prompt and courteous but not cloying. My eggs were served on a bed of tomato pure and topped with an assortment of fresh herbs. The garlic was perfectly balanced – not at all overpowering. Every bite was a fragrant treat to my senses. Very close to Union Station and I was very happy to find such a pleasant retreat open for business in the Loop on a Sunday.

Awesome hotel contemporary Italian gem. Food was excellent, service only O.K. even on a slow night. This is on par with very fine Italian. Nothing at all like a hotel.

Amazing fried oysters…. Nicely done fried oysters with a unique burst of lemon. Pizza among the best items on menu. We also enjoyed the butternut squash. Everything we ordered was great tasting. Only negative was a standard-fare short rib plate. Nice Italian wine selection and little known Italian beers on draft.. Great service too. We will go back.
