This place is great! Warm, authentic atmosphere. If you are not familiar with the area, it can be a bit daunting; just remember the three corners: 22nd Street, Blue Island Avenue and Ashland Avenue and drive slow so you won’t miss it. I believe on the weekends they have live Mariachi Bands. The food is very good, even the Kids menu. The Ceviche de Camaron, The Coctel De Camaron Chico, The Taco’s, The Red Snapper, The Polo en Mole, take it from me, it ALL is just real and oh, so good. The service is an 5 – 10 ten; depending which day you come and the time. Always attentive if it is slow, but a little lax if more than three families of more than four each are there. Don’t be surprised if the locals look at you strange (I’m assuming it was because they think it is their big secret;) but through the week of business hours, they get a lot of non-locals. The weekends are mostly theirs (the locals) with an occasional stranger coming in. There is amble parking, but be careful. Outside of regular Handicap Parking the rest is, lets see if we can park like people; and sometimes it works. The lot is gravel. The weekends for breakfast are always crowded. I like going in the mid afternoon, say 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. through the week, the weekends all day are crowded. You can call your order in for pickup and I love that. It is very family friendly as well as single/couple friendly. NO ALCOHOL, fine by me; you are there for the food anyway. Just go.
