Gormandizer. Not impressed. Best in quad cities by far is Olympic Gyros in Davenport.Better seasoning, portion and price. Just sayin’.
Going across the river? Then I am going to Uncle Pete’s. We live in Davenport and love to eat at Locally Owned!! We have been going to Uncle Pete’s since their mall days. Like the family owned atmosphere, and love the new store. When we take our family or other friends, it’s always like seeing best friends. Food is always the best!!! Owner and employee’s make this a destination for us to eat at weekly!!!
Good food but not good value. Firstly, I like their food, and I like to support local small businesses. But I think they just unearned my business. Their basket price (gyro, fries, drink) is $7.25 (and this is higher than what I normally pay for lunches in general.) I was just charged over $9 because I selected a 20 oz bottle of pop instead of a fountain drink. Their cold bottle selection is different than fountain. When I asked why it wasn’t the $7.25 price, they said it was because I got a bottle instead of a fountain drink; therefore they have to ring it up separately. Really?
Extremely Rude Manager. First of all, the food definitely worth the trip.Too bad the manager is unhelpful, unknowledgeable concerning his own credit card service provider, and most of all rude since instead of answering the customer’s questions properly he just blames his own ignorance as the customer’s fault.How his credit card service provider deals with his customers’ cards, he should know, and if he doesn’t, there is no need to be an ass about it. There are ways to turn the customer away politely. This just shows that he fails as a manager in Customer Service (Rating: Customer Problem Solving 1/5). Customers shouldn’t have to verify how that particular business or others for that matter deal with cards because of some service-wise incompetent and ignorant manager, just to end up finding out that that manager doesn’t what he’s talking about..I would return just for the food as long as that unaccommodating manager doesn’t pretend to take care of customers (he’d just drive them away).’Like it’ is for the food obviously, not that manager failing customer service.
Best. Gyros. Ever. Let me start by saying Uncle Pete’s Gyros is the BEST place to get a gyros in the Quad Cities. Not only are the gyros supreme the customer service is excellent. I only wish I had known about Uncle Pete’s sooner than last year! Chris, Leslie and the entire staff are wonderful people who genuinely care about their customers. Now I can’t say the same about a few other places where I have personally be treated poorly and the food was subpar. I will always be a faithful customer to Uncle Pete’s Gyros because it is a family owned and operated LOCAL business. I wish Uncle Pete’s 30 more years of excellent food and customer service.Nobody beats Uncle Pete’s!
Not the same. I used to eat at Uncle Pete’s frequently but since the new restaurant opened the food and service has gone downhill. Its sad because they do have a really good gyro but the last thing i want when i go out to eat is to hear the staff arguing and fighting like children
Impressive. I travel far to enjoy a meal at this restaraunt. I have tried many things on the menu and look forward to every time I go there. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great and the service is great. I am always taken care of when I am there.
