In it’s 2nd generation of family ownership Frank’s is a legend in Lake County and without a doubt, the most AUTHENTIC and BEST tasting wing joint in the Chicagoland area or just possibly outside of Buffalo NY itself. It’s right there with the best in Buffalo like the Anchor Bar, Duffs or any of many others I’ve been to out there, and back here in Chicago, well, there is no equal. Frank’s is small, cozy, friendly, and for over 30 years the Buffalo NY family that runs it had stood the test of time. Frank’s credentials include winning 2nd place best wings in Buffalo too. I didn’t go there to try anything else, but i would have to rate the wings as just average. If you like just Franks Red Hot and butter as your traditional Buffalo style sauce, then you will love these. They had many sauces, but a true wing place will make the signature Buffalo style sauce with a bit more flare. I did have to say they came out crispy just as I asked them and the meat was very good quality without a lot of stringy tendons. All in all a solid 6 in my book.
