Great Deli!!!. I am so happy I found this place, great Lox, a great selection of pickles, bagels, rye bread, cheesecake. It is the closed thing to a NYC deli in Illinois. I crave it and can’t wait to go back.
Rolls are always dry going on stale, they saturate your sandwich with the condiment of your choice, you can’t taste the product you ordered ,79 for a paper thin slice of cheese, I feel the quality of the product has gone down. The employees are great
Reminds me of home. I grew up on the east coast, in the northeast. Many years in the tri-state area including NYC. Schmaltz’s Deli is the real deal. I generally stick with the basic corned beef sandwiches but have had a few other items. Never had a bad meal there and I have going to the place since it opened on a regular basis (once every couple of weeks usually).The staff is great, the service is fast and it is clear they get how to run a deli.
Amazing corned beef sandwich! Had a potato knish that was very good. Potato latkes looked awesome and was sorry I did not order them. Had a cinnamon raisin rugulach for dessert that was the best I have had in ages! I am originally from NYC and this deli made me feel like I was back home.

NEW YORK authentic. Ever been to NYC for a sandwich? This is it. Expensive but enough to take home for another meal. Only thing missing is the nasty attitude!!
