If you have time while visiting Chicago and if you like a good hot dog or Italian sausage, you simply must go to Portillo’s. They even have a drive through window. What a place !!! Iconic, fun, frenetic, interesting and seemingly always filled with hungry patrons. Walk in, get in line, order a hot dog and wait for your ticket number to be called. Simple, easy and delicious. I love this place. Portillo’s is also excellent people watching as you can see locals, tourists from around the world and working people from downtown Chicago. Take out or eat it there. Portillos’s is simply a MUST SEE place in the Chicago scene. Don’t miss it.
