A three-level place with different activity at each floor. Ground floor is a deli and market for Two Brothers beer and coffee blends, plus store-cured meats and regional cheeses. The middle level is a full-service restaurant, while the upper level is a bar lounge with rooftop outdoor seating. We were guests at the 2nd floor Modern Tavern, where we had a fettucini Bolognese, and Chasseur chicken (herbed and served on garlic mashed potatoes). We thought the food was splendid. We had wisely ordered a burger with everything on the side for my daughter, and since she didn’t want to cartelized onions, she offered it to Mom, who said there really was no way it could add to her chicken. Entrees and desserts for two are going to run more like $50. beeronaut.com
This was my first time here. I ordered the beet salad. It was supposed to have arugula, but there was none. It was all mixed baby greens. I added chicken, but it was so tough I could barely cut through with my knife. The rest of the salad had a nice flavor and good dressing. I also used the bathroom and there was NO toilet paper or towels. And it was only 11am. I’m not that impressed.
