This is a great location with a fantastic outdoor space that’s great for lazy summer afternoons and evenings. The indoor space is very nice and especially cozy in the wintertime. The menu includes some unique options for appetizers and entrees, including daily specials, and changes seasonally.Bridge House is one of those places you go over and over; the food is always great and both the wait and bar staff are extremely customer focused. Its the ideal place hang out with friends for an afternoon or evening and enjoy the beautiful city view! They have some very interesting cocktails which are great for summer afternoon drinking; my two favorites are the Pink Lemonade and the St. BHT. Cocktails come by the glass and by the carafe the perfect option when you want to stay for a while! They also have a decent wine list, though a better selection by the bottle than by the glass.I absolutely love popcorn, so the Bacon Jalapeno Popcorn is one of my favorite things on the menu. The spice from the jalapeno is tempered nicely by the sweet from the honey. And who doesnt like bacon, which gives it that nice salty taste you expect from popcorn. foodiegirlchicago.com
We would go back. The Bridge House Tavern is located right on the river (boats can dock). It is a really nice location with plenty of outdoor seating. It was a Saturday afternoon and we had the brunch menu available. I had the steak and eggs. It was a nice strip steak and flavorful though a bit overcooked. We were in a hurry so I didn’t mention it to the server. The eggs were cooked well and it came with mashed potatoes which seemed odd (fries or tots would have been better). Overall though, I was happy with the food. My son had the hamburger, which was actually two patties and he said it was good (the fries were good as I ate a few). My other son had the bacon pancake which was HUGE. He really enjoyed it. My wife had the green goddess salad and she thought it was good. Overall a good experience and we would go back.
Beatiful spot for outdoor dining. No better place for breakfast on a nice day! Tried the smoked trout hash on the waiter’s recommendation – delicious!
With all the great places to eat in Chicago why would anyone come here? Popcorn was good but everything else paled. Spicy chicken avocado rolls were greasy without any distinctive flavors. Caesar bland with low quality cheese. The cheese board also with low quality cheeses. Glad we didn’t get the charcuterie because the server notifies us it was some whipped spread not real meat. Besides the popcorn the only redeeming aspect of the meal was the half price bottle of wine on Wednesday but choices are limited. If you want a below average place on the river it’s ok. If you want good food go somewhere else.
Awesome spot on the river. Bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Mary’s on Sundays (w/ Brunch). If you are lucky, there is a little cabana where you can sit on sofas.
Excellent for Saturday noon drinks and appetizers. Extensive menu. On the river.
Must get the popcorn app & the pork dish — if anything get the Mac & cheese!!’n
