Great venue and located around all the top 5* hotels near Rosemont. Great bar and a restaurant. Loved the Brisket and Blue Moon beer. Live band over the weekends and brunch something must try. Well trained staff and certainly will not be dissapointed even you are new to the town.

Beer list: good. Buffalo tater tots: hotter than I expected, but delicious. Fried chicken: I don’t know about the best in Chicago but I don’t know who would complain about eating it. Servers: Generally no problems save for the one time I was signed up for a now defunct joint Lettuce Entertain You account by my dining companion, but that’s another story. They’re super friendly and knowledgeable. My only beef with this place is the aesthetic. The terrible, terrible faux red neck country aesthetic complete with real plates designed to look like paper plates. I wince every time they bring those out…

So, we googled the best pies in Chicago and Bub City’s Peanut Butter Chocolate delight made with Valhrona chocolate ganache and homemade peanut butter was the one that caught my eye! And OmG is it insanely impeccable or what! You must go sample this delicious pie when in town and you will not leave disappointed, we definitely didn’t. If not just for the dessert, Bub City also boasts of a brilliant eclectic and vibrant ambiance with a live band and some delicious cocktails to boot! Go visit!

Starting with the bub city by moody tongue. Light hoppiness. Pretty good. Truckstop cheese & crackers: unexpectedly and happily spicy! Kitschy because of the saltines! City-style chicken wings: very fresh… Loved them! Tender chicken wings and the dry run is incredible! Only concern is that sides didn’t come with the entrees. Service: food came out incredibly quickly!! Almost like 5 mins after we ordered! Realty impressive. Overall service has been incredibly helpful as well. The server didn’t a nice amount of time walking us through the whiskey options – especially to someone like me (a complete whisky novice). Great atmosphere.

A great dining companion can read your mind. Yesterday I had the pleasure of lunching at Bub City with my friend Brad, and he basically read my mind when he suggested that we skip ordering entrees, and instead order a bunch of appetizers. We had a meal very fitting for the fact it was Fat Tuesday at the Southern themed restaurant. We started things off with fried pickles. I hate pickles, but I LOVE fried pickles. You could probably fry anything and serve it with ranch and I would love it. Brad and I agreed that Bub Citys fried pickles are some of the best we have tried. The batter is on the lighter side, and the pickles are just the right thickness. The sour pickles, crisp batter, and creamy ranch made for a great start to our meal.Next we moved on to the Smoked and Crispy Wings, served with Blue Cheese. These wings were rubbed with spice and extra crispy. They are a more flavorful, less spicy, alternative to buffalo wings.Moving right through the Southern cuisine food groups, we had the Classic Mac and Cheese next. Bub Citys Mac and Cheese is a creamy, cheesey, satisfying dish. I posted a photo of it, and it received a whopping 59 likes on Instragram (username: thekittchen), proving that everyone loves Mac and Cheese, and that Chicagoans love Bub City. If you want to stray from the traditional, Bub City also has a brisket mac and cheese and a baby rib mac and cheese. We finished our meal off with a brussels sprout salad with blue cheese, apples, and walnuts. It definitely balanced out our meal, and made me feel slightly less guilty for indulging so much.Bub City is a very casual restaurant, with a fun atmosphere (which includes an American flag made of beer cans above the bar), and modern Southern food. Bub City is located at 435 North Clark Street in Chicagos River North. They do take reservations and they are open for lunch. thekittchen.com

Even an option for Vegetarians. As long as Mac and Cheese is an option for vegetarians. I do have to say, it was possibly the best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had, and that’s saying a lot! I also got a side of Buffalo Tots, which I should have shared with someone else at my table (all of them where meat-eaters and they had been very gracious to try out vegan restaurants for me). Those two things were too much food! For as little as was available to me on the menu, it was incredibly tasty and VERY filling, I loved it! The North to Alaska Cocktail was really great too, I could certainly taste the whiskey. Definitely enjoyed the dinner! vegetarianbuffalo.com
