Celeste mixes old world glam with all of the trappings of modern casual luxury. This is favorite place to recommend to friends for after dinner drinks. The first floor is a casually boho luxe 1930s throwback with a chic speakeasy vibe. Chicago’s gem, DJ Megan Taylor plays AWESOME dancey pop sets here throughout the week.Service can be a bit hit or miss, I’ve had great experiences with drink recommendations and white glove service…and other times I’ve encountered all but eye rolls at requests to see a food menu from one of the Eastern European waitresses who seemed very annoyed that she has to bring people the food or drinks that they order.Drinks are creative without trying too hard, and always well-poured and beautifully presented. What I love best about Celeste is that the time flies by while you’re there, and you can easily transition from after-dinner drinks to a full dinner here. Great hearty, filling food with a touch of South of France straight from the farm vibes. Truly a diamond in Chicago’s crown. bigcityblonde.com

Celeste:. Celeste if four floors of exciting elegance. The Bar on the first floor has cocktails in a glamorous bar. The Deco room on the second floor is modeled after 1920s supper clubs complete with gold and chandeliers. The third floor is reserved for private parties and the 4th is your favorite place in the summer, the Rooftop with views of the skyline.Attention to detail from decor, service, food down to some of the best music I have heard in a restaurant in ages. Think chill house and electronic tracks by Miguel Migs, Kamp! and Nightmares On Wax.There are over 25 craft cocktails on the Deco Room menu so you cannot go wrong and should order more than one if you can.For bigger appetites should order the prix fixe menu (small plate, large plate and dessert). I was fine with two small plates and highly recommend both. The confit of pork shoulder was decadent enough with a slice of ciabatta dripping in pork juice but was also generously topped off with a fried egg. The Sriacha aioli added some nice heat. The heartiness of the farro and richness of the Burrata was a good match with the a nice salty crunch of the Marcona almonds and acid from the cider vinaigrette. The grilled baby octopus and the grilled quail have interesting flavor combinations. The quail is served with two birds and for some may be enough but not for those with heartier appetites. I suggest getting the lamb shoulder for a more substantial dish.If you decide to come for just for drinks there is a late-night menu that is served until 2:45am and includes necessary items such as fried chicken and mac and cheese. This may be important to you if you decide to stay until 5am close. aliciatasteslife.com
