Great steaks, amazing wine selection, very affordable…. Just think of Flemings Prime as a budget version of Ruths Chris but with better beef, a much nicer wine selection and far more affordable prices. We were wooed into Flemings for our first outing by their $29 prime rib steak special a salad starter, followed by a gorgeous 8oz slice of prime rib, your choice of sides and a dessert. We started the evening with cocktails from our bartender/waiter Austin, who knew the menu, front-to-back, and guided us expertly though the drink and wine offerings. We started with a Basil Tequila Gimlet that featured super smooth Noble Silver tequila with fresh basil leaves and lime zest, and a Sage Blossom Smash, that mimicked a fresh glass of fruit-filled lemonade. Both $11.00. A crispy loaf of freshly baked bread arrived with two wonderful spreads, a sun-dried tomato butter and a creamy blue cheese spread. Our salads were right behind; mine was a simple wedge of lettuce with sharp blue cheese , caramelized smoky bacon and crispy onion slices, the other, a massive Modern Caesar with hearts of romaine, parm cheese, fried capers and crispy prosciutto chips. Off to a great start! The wine selection was massive and includes over 100 by-the-glass options. The huge offering is made more palatable by an iPad-like computerized wine list that expertly pairs your dinner items with sommelier-chosen vintages. Inputting our dinner selection of prime rib, the computer displayed a handful of reds, ranging from $32 a bottle up to $250+. Our waiter immediately suggested the $35 Avalon 2011 Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, which married perfectly with our steaks, morphing from sweet and jammy in the beginning to currant-like and thick as it warmed in our table side carafe. Our prime rib slices, ordered and delivered perfectly rare (cool and red center) were delivered on nuclear-fired plates that radiated a Chernobyl-like heat. Sadly, I didnt scoot my prime rib off the plate fast enough, and the magma-hot disk actually cooked my beef a little more than I had preferred. Lesson learned! The meat was amazingly flavorful, with just a smattering of fat, and featured a peppery, almost vegetal, crisped coating on the outside. The beef was served with three dipping sauces; a classic, but salty, au jus, a very mild and creamy horseradish sauce and, believe it or not, a tangy honey mustard. Yep, honey mustard! And Im officially spoiled for life, because it was perfect with the prime rib.Our side dishes included a molten Chipotle Mac & Cheese and an order of Flemings House Potatoes whipped taters with cream, topped with a puree of jalapenos and cheddar cheese. The portions during the entire meal were certainly a bargain for the $29 per person price tag, currently available Sunday and Monday evenings. And the desserts rounded out the evenings offerings perfectly – Chocolate Lava Cake, Crme Brulee, Walnut Turtle Pie, Carrot Cake and Fresh Berries and Cream. We opted to eat the brulee at the table, but took our slice of Turtle Pie home for a late night noshing.Flemings could certainly become that go-to steak house when youre jonesing for a great, Chicago-style steak dinner for a really decent price.

Maybe i should have ordered a steak. The lobster tempura was greasy, gummy, and tasteless. .

Great steak and wine selections offering premium cuts in a romantic setting.

Pretty good, but not outstanding. Attended a large business dinner in private dining area. The wine and appetizers during cocktail hour were very good. The dinner menu offered a beef, chicken and seafood entree. The tuna was prepared nicely, but nothing extraordinary. Good place to hold a business dinner and the service was excellent. Not sure what a private dining experience would be like.

Scallops are very good, especially if you are recovering from a big might last night at the churassaria. Dessert is amazing. if you wan to be conscious for dinner don’t order the caipirinha before hand.
