Had a bit of time to kill before my flight, so popped in here for dinner. Had a pretty long line, but I figured what the heck. Host told me about 15 minutes, and even though there were about 25 people ahead of me, he was right on the estimate. Had a great waitress, she came and told me what she’d order, went to get my drink as I thought over the selections, and the meal was delivered within 15 minutes. Her description was spot on, excellent BBQ Burger, and very filling. and the beer she brought was the coldest I have ever had in any restaurant or bar, anywhere!
Deceptively sleek interior. Loved the statement white plastic curved furniture and the tunes that were playing. A group of four, we shared Edamame beans (could have been saltier), Miso soup (loved the giant mugs), a deluxe combo sashimi platter (incredibly silky), devil’s tuna maki, mixed tempura (very little shrimp) and some additional maki. Our server was lovely as she asked the chef to cut our maki into 8 to ensure there was no fighting for the last piece! Such a shame the Riesling was as sweet as it was but all in all a great spot.
Great food, Superb environment. Great place to go out on a date or get together with friends. Located right in downtown Chicago, this book definitely should not be judged by its cover. The outside is not too impressive, but walking in is a different story. The environment is a good combination of hip, modern and comfortable. The music is not too loud. Seating is comfortable. Service is great and food came to the table real quick. The sushi here is fantastic and not too terribly priced. Recommend going!
VERY interesting and tasty rolls. Very good sushi and very nice staff. Super interesting rolls that were awesome! Some had MINT in them, others had apple in them. I brought my 6 month old there and by nature no sushi place is super baby friendly but the wait staff seemed to love having him there and the sushi chef’s waved at him as well. The space is just cramped and there was no baby changing station in the restroom. Would definitely go again….but would get a baby sitter for the bambino so I could enjoy myself a little more.
Nice atmosphere but the food wasn’t wasn’t worth it. I went for lunch and got a salmon teriyaki bento and it came with barely any food. Plus the sliver of salmon they gave me didn’t taste that great. For $14 it’s a total ripoff. Prepare to be disappointed.
BestMiso soup I’ve ever had. Yum. Nice and cozy atmosphere. We had the Friends Roll -just super awesome-, the Jimmai -yummy with a nice mild sweetness-, and the Crazy Winter- different but good.
Over priced, small fish cuts. Staff was nice, fish was fresh, but my sashimi pieces were minuscule, and over priced.
