The worst steak I’ve had in an exceedingly long time. If only it looked like the one in the picture. My ‘Medium Rare’ filet was medium-well, and not chargrilled, but charcoaled. You couldn’t taste anything but the char. The entire steak was black, and the char went about 3mm deep. You had to cut it off the crust to taste any semblance of steak. The steak itself was tender, but had no flavour, no juiciness; it had a powder like (as my companion stated, sawdust like) texture. The brussel sprout side was completely overcooked and mushy, and the starters, mushroom soup (I can only think a packet with some fresh mushrooms added) was more like gravy than soup, and the salad looked like it came from the height of the 1970’s (we should have guessed by the options of ‘ranch’, ‘thousand island’ and some other crap that we were not in for a culinary experience at that point – more like the grocery store special). If you appreciate a quality dining experience, this is not the place for you.
This place is phenomenal ! For one, the staff know absolutely everything about every cut (skip to 04:18 to watch one of them explain what’s a Chicago cut youtu.be/4scvWLUWOJE). They are full or knowledge and are more than happy to share. For two – the meat is incredible. Nicely grilled on the outside – the inside just melllltttssss in the mouth. Great place, service in Chicago Downtown. I don’t go for hamburgers however when in US you have to. We ordered king’s sandwich and have no regrets at all:) beef is just awesome.Strangely…. pickles and tomatos tasted very good unlike most of places in US. I didn’t like fried jalapeo as prefer fresh or marinated one however all was good. Really enjoyed it and would recommend it if anyone looking for typical American food. On the photo it does not look that tasty. It’s very good though.
This place was amazing! I sat in the bar area at the counter, the atmosphere was fun with a piano player in the background. It had tv in the bar but no sound so that was nice so you could hear the piano. The bartenders were very great and friendly. You can have the whole menu at the bar so that was great. I had the 16oz prime rib, a half order of mashed potatoes and gravy and half order of bacon, bourbon Brussel sprouts. Everything was fantastic! Everything was a 10/10. Everything was perfectly cooked and the prime rib was so tender. I will be back for sure! It is worth the price. Make sure you go here!
So one of my fav places in terms of steak and a mist recommended for all steak lovers out there. There s nothing better you can get. Place is always packed and you might gotta wait a bit to get a table during the peak hours however trust me it’s worth the wait guys. Have tried almost everything on there menu :).
