I went to Gilt Bar only for a drink but I really liked what I saw. Very cool, dark but sophisticated space with a really nice cocktail offer. The one I had was incredible, some berries martini. Def recommend for a drink!

Big bar style restaurant. The food is delicious and there is large variety. Central location helps. It is very crowded. Long wait common. Even if you make a reservation, you may not sit on time.

Loved the Gilt Bar! Book a reservation in the library room! The truffle pasta was to die for!! Very cool atmosphere and great cocktails and food! Will go back!

Amazing! How much did I miss a good foie gras with awsome bread? Let’s say a lot. This definetly settled it. Other than that, the environment was cosy with a low light concept, and considering the quality of the experience, I wouldn’t say it’s overpriced! To finish in beauty, go with the oreo pie..

I went here for my birthday dinner on a Friday evening. It was very quaintly lit and just crowded enough, but private enough to have an intimate dinner. When we arrived we waited a few minutes even though we had a reservation for them to clean up a table. We did get seated within a few minutes, but then began the wait for our waitress. Overall service is good, but not great. It took her a while to come around to get our orders and was not very receptive to our questions about recommendations. Once all was said and done we did enjoy the following:Cocktails:Le Bar St. Germain – An excellent way to celebrate with this delightful cocktailwhiskey sour – with the egg white its a much more smooth version of this traditional drink… quite enjoyable.wine selections – are very reasonable and we shared a bottle of the sauvignon blanc after moving on from our cocktails. We tried to of the on toast items:The special – a smoked salmon that was kind of like the tartar, but with salmon instead. Was ok but nothing exciting.Burrata and Roasted Tomatoes – the cheese was amazing, but otherwise nothing too out of the ordinary.Salads:Fennel & Apple – was very light with some bright and citrus flavorsBrussel Sprouts – was AMAZING I have never had brussel sprouts like this, but it was delicious cold version of one my favorite veggies. Entrees:Ricotta Gnocchi: I was very excited to order this, and it was only disappointing, because there were like two pieces of the pork in there. I realize the focus is the gnocchi, which is like none you have ever had before. Very light and velvety with the ricotta, but so disappointing with the lack of pork. Other entrees at the table were the shrimp and grits and the pork belly which were devoured and noted as quite good.Desserts:The sticky toffee date cake: is not what your tradtitional healthy number with the dates in the title. Its delicious and ooey gooey goodness made my birthday awesome:)Chocolate Cream Pie: I only took two bites out of this and it was so decadent and rich thats about all I could handle… so good though and so worth it if you’re a chocoholic.Overall I really loved the portions and the food at this place. Server could have been more engaging, but overall the atmosphere and food are truly unique and delicious. A truly wonderful birthday dinner. northandred.com

A friend asked me….. Was the ribeye good or great….my answer…on the.bottom end of good. The steak unfortunately was full of sinew and on the.verge.of being cold. I get the fact you need to rest a steak but this was sleeping it was so rested. The plate was cold….At least the cocktails made up.for it….Such a pit as we came a.long way looking for fine chicago food…..all the way from South Africa.
