Incredible Vietnamese food. There are no real words to describe how flavorful and authentic the food is here. Even the drinks are so unique and delicious. This place has been around for quite a long time now and is still as good as ever. It’s usually a good idea to make a reservation before coming by. You definitely won’t regret it if you love Asian foods. Even the rice is next level! butterbazaar.blogspot.com
This isn’t a lively place to have dinner but if you are up for a quiet night to enjoy great food this is a good place. The drinks are great. The service was very attentive and nice. Does not have a waiting area so while you are waiting a couple of minutes until they prepare your table you are standing next to the door and people eating which is odd. I would go back for a quiet dinner.
Mostly good… Shame about the duck. Enjoyed our meal here. Service was high quality, the dining room has a nice exotic/ formal vibe. Appetizers were excellent. Our shrimp in curry was nice, but the duck main was tough and lacked flavor. This was unfortunate for me as I am a fan of duck and often order it.Try the Vietnamese coffee- it is excellent.

Great Food, Great Service. We had a delicious meal and the service was really comfortable and professional. The menu has a lot of depth and it’s helpful to have a server that makes it accessible and entertaining. Terry did a great job of taking care of us and walking through the menu which truly made it come alive. The flavors were really fresh and the pace of the meal was pleasant.
Better show up well dressed. My family and I had dinner at Le Colonial recently. When we showed up, we were seated in the ‘terrace’ area – which was outdoors and not air conditioned. While the food was great and the service still attentive, we were seated next to a group that looked like they had just walked in from the beach and had less than appropriate language for the environment (and the ears of my six-year old daughter). I guess one has to show up dressed in a way that befits the neighborhood (i.e., designer clothing) to not be seated outside — if that works for you and your party, the food is good (and reasonably priced for what it is) and the service good, despite being segregated by attire.
Le Colonial is the perfect restaurant for a romantic night on the town. Food, service and ambience couldn’t have been better. Our waiter, Nicolas, was attentive without being being around too much, great job. A must every time we go to Chicsgo.
