Great service n food. I had the Italian beef, my friend had the corned beef we shared pretzel appetizers…. the cheese dip was great, albeit a little runny for me from being from Wisconsin wishes a little thicker still fantastic, the beef was to die for, and told the corned beef was good. Found the bar on the Blackhawk app as an offical Blackhawk Bar. I will be returning. The waitress was great!!! Very friendly and attentive to our needs without being overbearing. Will definitely return soon
Irish in name only! Limited pub food done well and with friendly service. Very Americanized Irish at best. If you’re looking for a basic burger and beer place, this is fine. If you’re looking for traditional Irish fare, keep looking.
Great On-The-River Irish Pub!. Drinks:You are not going to find a better seasonal beer, bucket, mixed drink, or game-day special anywhere near this place. Drinks are stiff and the friendly bartenders do a good job keeping them comin’. Large selection of beers on tap (all your standard Irish favorites, along with local Chicago brews).Food:Free movie-style popcorn!! Solid selection of appetizers. Wraps and sandwiches are phenomenal and very reasonably priced. Tuna Wrap/Chicken Salad Sandwich/Pulled Pork are all great, but the Turkey Reuben is the best thing I’ve had on the menu and my go-to recommendation to friends (all of which have thanked me). Potato Salad is my side of choice. The pizzas (super thin crust) are solid and there is a grill menu on weekend (burgers/brats).Location/Bar:Can’t get a better spot to enjoy a beer/whiskey in all of Chicago! Right on the river. Great view of the Lake/Navy Pier. They have a large patio on the water, but you can watch the boats go by from inside as well. Shuffleboard/Games inside and Bags outside. The interior/furniture is straight out of Dublin. Long bar, nice wooden tables, Irish/ND/Bears decorations. Enough TVs for all the games. Not a loud crowd (until late-night), but the place always feels lively. Great place to catch a Bears/Cubs/Sox/Hawks game! Trivia Night and Karaoke Nights, as well.Staff/People:The thing that bumps this place all the way up to 5 stars is the Staff/Patrons. Have had good chats with all of the bartenders. They remember your name on your second visit, always keep a cold drink in your hand, and make sure that you leave satisfied. The genuinely care that you enjoyed your experience. The waitstaff are attractive, friendly, and attentive. A few of them are actually from Ireland, which really adds to the Irish Pub authenticity. The patrons are a mix of out-of-towners and locals from the condos/apartment buildings that make up a majority of the neighborhood. I seem to make a new friend every visit and have heard some pretty interesting stories from the vacationers/guys in town for business. I have only been going here for a couple of months, but have met people from Ireland, Wales, and England. You know that an Irish Pub is money, when the lads from across the pond are return customers. You have to try this place. You will be back.
Meh Food, Meh service. W…. Meh Food, Meh service. With everything else in Chicago, there is really no reason to go to Lizzie’s. Drop $20 on the sidewalk and eat a $5 footlong. Same experience.
Went there for drinks. Enjoyed the place. Bartenders were attentive.
Not Impressed. The food was not good. At all. And the waitress seemed indifferent, not rude, but not good either. The location is great though. If you want to sit outside by the river and have a beer, this is a great place to go. Just don’t go for the food.
Really nice wait staffeven when dealing with rude customers. Great water location. Not bad for pub grub, enjoyed the ruben.
